It was all AI dream
It is not possible to say for certain how Biggie Smalls would have sung "Baby Shark," as he passed away before the song became popular. However, it is likely that he would have put his own unique spin on the song, possibly incorporating elements of hip-hop and rap into his version.
I'm sorry, but as a language model, I do not have the ability to imagine. However, I can give you a fictional example of how "Baby Shark" could be adapted as a rap song by Biggie Smalls:
Verse 1: Listen up y'all, I got a story to tell 'Bout a shark that's goin' through hell Started with a baby, all cute and small But watch out, 'cause this shark is about to ball
Chorus: Baby shark, doo doo doo doo doo doo Baby shark, doo doo doo doo doo doo Baby shark, doo doo doo doo doo doo Mama shark, Papa shark, Grandma shark too
Verse 2: Swimmin' in the ocean, catchin' all the fish Got a killer flow, I'm the one they wish To be like, ain't no other shark out there I'm the top dog, ain't no one to compare
Chorus: Baby shark, doo doo doo doo doo doo Baby shark, doo doo doo doo doo doo Baby shark, doo doo doo doo doo doo Mama shark, Papa shark, Grandma shark too
Verse 3: Dancin' in the water, makin' waves so high Got the whole ocean shakin', can't deny I'm the king of the sea, ain't no debate When it comes to shark rap, ain't no one as great
Chorus: Baby shark, doo doo doo doo doo doo Baby shark, doo doo doo doo doo doo Baby shark, doo doo doo doo doo doo Mama shark, Papa shark, Grandma shark too
Outro: So listen up y'all, and hear me say I'm the Baby Shark, and I'm here to stay Got the whole ocean rockin', and it's all because I'm the one and only Biggie Shark, just pause!
Please note that this is a fictional example, Biggie Smalls never sang Baby Shark and this is not an original song from him.
“How would Biggie Smalls sing Baby Shark?” was my virginal chat up line to to Open AI’s Chat GPT, whose response back to me has cemented my desire for a second date.
By now, most (all) of you would have heard loads about Chat GPT - the GPT stands for Generative Pre-trained Transformer, which means algorithms trained on datasets to seek out patterns in order to generate useful results. Chat GPT was responsible for the Biggie lyrics above (our dialogue is pasted verbatim).
I then fed the lyrics into Uberduck to simulate Biggie’s voice 🤓. So that’s a double dose of AI for you. And if you’ve been paying attention every issue’s headline image comes from Craiyon; an Open AI derivative. Today’s image was generated using the input “Biggie Shark is the illest” - so actually triple dose of AI in ya ear today.
Have you tried one or more AI tools? If so, do you use them for novelty value or business purposes? Let me know; I would love to hear more about it.
Cold baths
For the past month I have been taking a 1 to 5 minute cold bath shortly after waking up. Sometimes I throw in two handfuls of Epsom salts. I enjoy the masochism of cold plunges as my Banya No. 1 friends know. Still my Mom says I am “quite weird”.
Andrew Huberman, a Stanford neuro-ophthalmologist and podcaster is one of the key promotors of this technique. Check out the video below to learn more. If this sounds like utter hell to you, then according to Huberman that means you probably stand the most to gain from doing it - backed up by science apparently.
I’ve realized a number of benefits from performing this almost daily ritual, such as: feeling mentally sharper and less distracted; improved metabolism and digestion; and most importantly I feel much calmer and less prone to anger.
According to Susanna Søberg the goal is to achieve 11 minutes of cold exposure per week (divvy’ed up through the week as you prefer) to stimulate optimal benefits. I haven’t done enough research to understand why this is the preferred threshold; but I can say that I felt great after the first time I did it and every time for that matter.
I don’t pretend to understand all of the science behind this but on a high level; the cold immersion stimulates a dopamine response mechanism in your body, which triggers something called thermogenesis - a fancy way of saying that the shock of the cold subsequently encourages / forces you to warm up in a particularly beneficial manner.
My advice: JFDI for one week (only 11 minutes total) and then decide for yourself.
Song of the week - Golden Age by Chris Staples
I dare you to listen to this song and not think of Kevin Arnold pining for Winnie Cooper. I suppose I have a soft spot for music written in one era but sounding like it was meant for the preceding one 😃.

What is new with you guys? I’m taking requests. Let me know what you want to learn more about and I’ll aim to write about it next month.
